An MBA can be earned from most schools in less than two years if you already have some college education. Costs are competitive, but remember, the cheapest online MBA programs may or may not be the best for you. If there is some way to apply the MBA to your current career, you should probably look for the MBA that fits your experience, not just one that fits your budget. Grants and student loan programs are available, and if you are still working but are simply getting fewer hours, your employer may be willing to help pay for additional education. An MBA degree for a person who already has a business career or experience is a bit like putting a bow on a package.  It will simply make you appear to be worth more and will call an employer’s attention to you.

MBA jobs can be found in any business or industry. The programs can be customized to fit any business, organization, or industry in which you may have an interest. That is why you don’t want to just sign up for the first school that offers the cheapest MBA in the shortest amount of time. If you earn an MBA in accounting, but your interest is in international marketing, your MBA may be of little use to you. However, the MBA degree is one of the most flexible of all college degrees. As long as the school is able to offer the courses related to your career interest, you will be able to mix and match them to apply to your own situation.

Earning the MBA can be accomplished in as little as two years, but don’t take that to mean that the work is simple. The course work, projects, and exams can be very demanding. Furthermore, having the MBA without corresponding experience will result in a lower salary than statistics report. CFOs, for example, who have experience and an MBA often make six figures plus bonuses.  The actual salary is also dependent on the type of work you do. A clerk in the accounting department might make only for $30,000 to $40,000 even with an MBA degree.

Although no one can actually guarantee the salary you will make, getting your MBA online is still a good idea. According to the Graduate Management Admissions Council, those who have the MBA have, on the average, a 50% higher salary than those with equivalent experience but no MBA.
